UA alumni and friends are invited to a special University of Alabama reception in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, hosted at the historic National Union Building. This event will bring together UA alumni, community partners, friends of the University, and members of Alabama’s congressional delegation to celebrate the milestone 10th Annual Washington, D.C. Policy and Advocacy Fly-In.
Launched in 2017, the Fly-In is a cornerstone of the School of Social Work’s experiential learning initiatives. The program provides students with an immersive, multi-day experience focused on federal policy analysis, advocacy strategy, and ethical civic engagement. The evening will showcase the innovative work taking place through the UA School of Social Work, including the expanding Washington, D.C. practicum program, student policy engagement efforts, and the University’s commitment to experiential learning on a national scale.
